Update

The nextest of next gen phones, the Onyx has been created by Synaptics in partnership with Pilotfish.

The Onyx is the first functioning devide equipped with next gen sensor technology which has completely removed the need for buttons. And its not even "touch screen" as the iPhone is. It has optically transparent capacitive sensors which not only recognise points and taps but also the drawing of shapes and gestures - simply unberlievable.

Touch-Sensitive Futuristic Phone

A company called Synaptics has developed the Onyx Phone which is a beautifully crafted, touch-sensitive phone.

This concept phone uses something called ClearPad technology which allows it to tell what your're pointing or tapping at on the screen and can even recognise shapes and gestures you make too.

The company told T3 that you’ll be able to close tasks by “swiping an X over them”, or send messages by “swiping them off the screen.”

The Onyx Phone also has a GPS and a music player.

But you shouldn't have to wait too much longer as the company believes it won’t be long ‘til all our communications, PDA, media and navigation boxes combine in a form like this.
